Going forward in the mining sector – helping improve comminution efficiency and other processes

30 August 2016

STEINERT has recently become a sponsor for the organisation The Coalition for Eco-Efficient Comminution (CEEC)

CEEC is a not-for-profit, industry-funded organization dedicated to helping the mineral industry improve the efficiency of comminution and other processes in the mining sector.  CEEC works with mining companies to accelerate the take-up of energy-efficient strategies by identifying, communicating and celebrating leading comminution practice around the world.  Information is freely provided and available to everyone via our website, network and resource materials.

CEEC’s unique role has also been recognised in the World Economic Forum (WEF) Mining Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 2016 report.

Over the past 12 months CEEC has provided resources to industry, including distribution of over 1300 technical papers to practitioners via links from CEEC website, and delivery of 4 international CEEC industry workshops: 2 in Canada, 2 in South Africa.

CEEC also provides complimentary access to their growing energy curve program, designed to assist mining companies establish a baseline for their current comminution energy productivity.  CEEC energy curves are constructed from a database that includes over 55% of global copper production as well as production of gold, nickel and zinc.  The curves have become an important industry tool as they provide a common language between technical and commercial managers.
