STEINERT reaches Recognition Point in Healthy Together Achievement Program
18 May 2015
STEINERT Australia is one of 46 Knox businesses that has committed to taking action around health and wellbeing in the workplace by registering with the Healthy Together Victoria Workplace Achievement Program. The Healthy Together Achievement Program is aimed at improving the health of Victorians and is funded by the Victorian Government.
So far 772 workplaces across Victoria have registered to the Program.
With the great work of STEINERT’s Health and Wellbeing Committee, which enjoys strong support by senior management, and the valuable assistance from the team at Healthy Together Knox, STEINERT has successfully applied for Stage 1 recognition, joining with more than 148 workplaces recognised for their commitment to health and wellbeing and for having a plan in place.
STEINERT has chosen physical activity as its first health priority area. Consultation confirmed most staff wanted to be more physically active and with around 70% of its workforce being sedentary for the majority of their time at work, it made good sense to prioritise this health area.
Continuing on from community events, such as Walk the Block and Active April, over the next six months or so, STEINERT will be implementing their Activity Proposal, which includes a pedometer challenge, the introduction of standing meeting tables, the formation of a bicycle group, just to name a few. STEINERT was fortunate in successfully applying for funds to enable and assist their physical activity initiatives and greatly appreciates the support from Healthy Together Knox and VicHealth.
