STEINERT Announces Mining Expo

15 March 2017

Event to be held at its North American Headquarters in May

Walton, KY – March 15, 2017 – STEINERT US has announced it will be hosting a Mining Expo at its US headquarters in Walton, Kentucky.  The free event will center on mining strategies and new technologies to improve mine grade.

The keynote speaker of the session is Dr. Richard Honaker, Chair of the Department of Mining Engineering at the University of Kentucky.  His research areas include Advanced Physical Processing, Applied Surface Chemistry, Automation and Control, Coal Preparation, Fine Particle Processing and Mineral Processing.

“We are excited to have Dr. Honaker speaking at our event, and look forward to him sharing his knowledge of mining processes,” said Jason Looman, President of STEINERT US.

The Mining Expo is the first full-day mining event the company has held.  “We are looking forward to welcoming the mining industry to our North American headquarters, and especially to our Test Center facility where we can demonstrate STEINERT’s expertise in areas of mineral processing,” Looman said.

The event will include sessions on X-ray transmission sorting, how pre-concentration improves grade to the mill, and how STEINERT equipment eliminates the need for expensive heavy/wet media separation.  It will also include demonstrations in the STEINERT US Test Center, a state-of-the art facility where its customers have the chance to test various configurations of equipment to quantify resource recovery based on differing input materials.

The Mining Expo begins the evening of Monday, May 8th, when the company will hold a meet-and-greet reception for attendees, and will run all day on May 9th.
